Technology has developed at an astonishing rate. Unfortunately, the digital revolution hasn’t yet had the positive impact it could have on our education system. Its very important in today's modern world to take teaching and learning to the next level.

Over the past years, it was identified by United States-based Partnership (P21) as to which of the skills were the most important for K-12 education. These skills were decided to be most important and became known as the “4cs of the 21st century learning”. A focus on Critical thinking, Collaboration, Communication and Creativity is essential for students to succeed in learning and prepare them for increasingly complex work and life environments in the 21st century.

 

Critical thinking: Critical thinking involves logical thinking and reasoning including skills such as comparison, classification, sequencing, cause/effect, patterning, webbing, analogies, deductive and inductive reasoning, forecasting, planning, hypothesizing, and critiquing. However, it’s too easy to let technology do the thinking for us, or thinking that it does. In order to succeed in the 21st Century, you have to remember that, no matter how high tech the machine, it’s useless without a person telling it what to do and thinking critically about the result.

Collaboration: Collaboration is about working together to reach a goal and putting talent, expertise, and smarts to work. Being flexible and willing to compromise with the team members to reach the goal. Demonstrating responsibility and working effectively as a team member.

Communication: Communication is expressing thoughts clearly, asking questions, crisply articulating opinions, communicating coherent instructions, finding ideas and solutions and motivating others through powerful speech. Sharing information efficiently and effectively using appropriate digital media and environments.

Creativity: Creativity is the ability to produce new, diverse and unique ideas. Thinking creatively means looking at things from a different perspective and not be restricted by rules, customs, or norms. Creativity is trying new approaches to get things done, innovation, and invention.

To compete in this global society, the students today must be proficient communicators, collaborators, critical thinkers and creators.

ATAL INNOVATION MISSION


On the eve of second anniversary of the NDA government and as a tribute to our former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the NITI Aayog has launched a new initiative called "Atal Innovation Mission". With a view of giving a substantial boost to the Innovation ecosystem, NITI Aayog will establish 500 Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATL) in schools across India under this mission. Their vision is to "Cultivate one Million children in India as Neoteric Innovators". The objective of ATLs scheme is to foster curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds. ATLs will be hubs of innovation where young minds will accelerate their ideas to solve unique problems.

We are also going to support the government in their initiative and be involved by integrating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education along with 3D printing technology into the school curriculum
